2023 Sketchbook

Here are some sketched I did from reference images while playing DnD.

A sketch of a windmill. Harsh black and white with some grey watercolour shading. There is a small mouse hiding in the image.

A line drawing of in black pen of a small Japanese building. There's a small shed type structure in front.

A Japanese building on a corner. A sign on the building says "Coffee". There are plants in pots all around the base of building. Above, cables criss-cross the street. The drawing is in black pen with shading in a grey felt pen that in hindsight is far too dark.

A decaying lighthouse. Some of the rendering has falled off to reveal the brickwork underneath. Birds a circling to tower. There is a gap in the clouds directly behind the light and lines eminate from the light outwards in all directions but stop where they hit the clouds. Again, it's a line drawing with some fairly ropey shading.

A weird nautical building. Kind of like a mini lighthouse but there's no light. I don't know what it is but it's kind of neat.

Another lighthouse. This one quite small, the type you might find near a harbour. There is a walkway around the outside with a ladder coming down from it. Both are twisted and partly missing.

A line drawing of a French building. it has been built in an interesting way. Looks like each floor was added using different materials at a different time. Every door and window is different . It's hard to tell if the artist's perspective work is bad or if the building is wonky. Truth it it's actually both. This is another pen and ink drawing but this time with crosshatched shading.
